Course Landscapes

This project presents my journey through the first three semesters of my Interface Design degree, visualized as an abstract map. Clusters of islands and an ocean of ripples paint a picture of my thematic choices, my course projects, and my stress level.

Inspired by folding road maps, the map was printed in a size of 110 × 76 cm and enclosed in a cover. It has been included in the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam’s library collection.

The map’s dimensions conform to the standards used by commercial folding road maps.
After opening up the cover, the map can be spread apart and unfolded.
Circles extend across the map, forming three thematic clusters.
Each circle represents a project or exercise completed within a course.
Each particle spread around the projects symbolizes one hour spent in class, either online or in person.
The legend helps readers decode the visualization.
A right-hand column introduces select courses in detail, indicating within which grid cell they can be found on the map.
